Using saved profiles to switch between your stores and competitor sites

What saved profiles do

A saved profile captures your complete StoreViewer setup — your regions, their base URLs, your chosen layout, which regions are assigned to which screen, and the current page path — under a name you choose. You can save as many profiles as you need and switch between them instantly from the toolbar.

The most common use case is maintaining two profiles side by side: one for your own regional storefronts, and one for a set of competitor sites. Switching between them takes one click, with no need to re-enter URLs or rebuild your layout each time.

Creating your first profile

Before creating a profile, set up the regions you want to save. If you haven't added your storefronts yet, see Adding your regional storefronts to StoreViewer first.

Once your regions are configured:

  1. Open Settings and go to the Profiles tab
  2. Click Save current setup as profile
  3. Enter a name for the profile — something descriptive like "Our Stores" or "Brand AU/US/NZ"
  4. Click Save

Your current setup is now saved as a named profile.

Creating a second profile for competitor sites

  1. Open Settings → Regions and replace your current region URLs with your competitors' base URLs — or add new regions for each competitor storefront you want to view
  2. Adjust the layout if needed
  3. Open Settings → Profiles
  4. Click Save current setup as profile
  5. Name it something like "Competitors" or the specific brand name
  6. Click Save

You now have two profiles. When you switch between them, StoreViewer reloads all panes with the URLs from the selected profile.

Switching between profiles

Once you have two or more saved profiles, a dropdown appears in the toolbar next to the URL bar. Click it to see your profiles listed by name and select the one you want to load. StoreViewer will apply that profile's regions, layout, and screen assignments immediately.

Updating a profile

If your regions or layout change and you want to update a saved profile to reflect the new setup:

  1. Make your changes to regions or layout
  2. Open Settings → Profiles
  3. Find the profile you want to update and click Overwrite (or save under the same name — StoreViewer will ask you to confirm the overwrite)

Deleting a profile

Open Settings → Profiles, find the profile you want to remove, and click Delete. This only removes the saved profile — it doesn't affect your current regions or layout.

Tips for working with competitor profiles

Use short, clear region names. When viewing competitor sites, label regions with the competitor's brand name or market — e.g. "CompetitorX AU" or "BrandY US" — so it's obvious at a glance which pane is which.

Save a path with the profile. If you always start a competitor review on the same page — their homepage, their sale page, their shipping policy — navigate there before saving the profile. StoreViewer saves the current path as part of the profile, so it'll open at that page every time you load it.

Competitor sites and Cloudflare. Some competitor sites may show a Cloudflare error when loaded in StoreViewer. See Why some sites show a Cloudflare error in StoreViewer for what to try.
